A Closer Look At Your Time

One strategy towards improving your personal effectiveness is the awareness of how you're spending your time. According to Tim Hindle, in his book Manage Your Time, the ideal workday is broken down into three categories:

Routine tasks
Ongoing projects
Planning & development

Knowing where you're actually spending time is a big step towards a more productive career. Hindle recommends that you spend 60% of your time on planning and development, 25% of your time on ongoing projects, and 15% of your time on routine tasks.
