Is Your Desk Making You Sick?

We work, read, write, email, meet, and often eat at our desks, but we rarely think about how the cleanliness of our desk might be affecting our health. Studies show that your desk may be making you sick. Here are some alarming statistics:

57% of men, and 43% of women, admit eating meals or snacks at a dirty desk or work space
There are almost 21,000 bacteria per square inch on the typical worker's desk
There are more than 25,000 bacteria per square inch on the typical worker's phone
In comparison, there are only 49 bacteria per square inch on the typical office toilet seat

Knowing how much bacteria might be hiding in your office can help you stay healthy, by becoming more proactive with wiping down your desk, keyboard and phone on a frequent basis.
