Getting It Done Even If You Don't Feel Like It
"We are more likely to act ourselves into feeling, than we are to feel ourselves into acting" - William James
How many times have you procrastinated on something because it just isn't interesting or you don't feel like doing it? The next time this happens, try using author Sam Horn's Five Minute Plan to get moving. The Five Minute Plan encourages you to say "I don't feel like starting on this project, AND I'M GOING TO START IT ANYWAY." Make a deal with yourself that at the end of five minutes, if you're still not interested, you can stop. Most of the time though, according to Horn, once you've gotten yourself out of inertia and into motion, you're so glad to be getting this task out of the way, that you're motivated to continue.
