Reframe Your Phone Time

Has this happened to you?...You only have a couple of minutes to talk on the phone, and the person you're talking to doesn't take the cues you're giving that you need to get off the phone? If talking on the phone is still a preferred method of communication for you (and I hope it is!), then here are some ways to improve your productivity and reframe your phone time:

1. Instead of randomly chatting when you may not have time, schedule a time to speak with someone on the phone - let the person know how much time you think you'll need upfront.

2. Send the person you'd like to speak with either an outline or a brief agenda so they can prepare for the call.

3. Let the person know when you answer the phone, how much time you have for the call. Once that time is up, let them know you need to go, and reschedule another time to speak if necessary.
