Is Your Calendar Working?
How do you know if your calendar is working for you? Ask yourself this: Is the tool you are currently using supporting your workload? If the answer's no, then it may be time to switch how you're keeping track of appointments, reminders, tasks, etc. Here are some other signs that your calendar might not be working...
1. You find yourself saying "I used to use that calendar all the time" - if you've stopped using it, there's probably a good reason. The first step is to ask yourself why and then see what other options might work for you.
2. It doesn't support your growing responsibilities - if you're in the habit of using a small paper calendar, and your responsibilities increase, then you need to increase the capacity of your calendar.
3. You keep switching between paper and electronic - my advice is to try one system for 30 days - then ask yourself what's working and what's not. Paper calendars work well for tactile individuals and those with long habits of using paper calendars. Electronic calendars work well for individuals who don't like the clutter of paper, convenience, and like a variety of options.
