So What? Now What?

Instead of wasting time assuming that projects are going smoothly, clients are happy, and communication is flowing, it's important to ask questions and get feedback. Find out "How are we doing?" and "What could we do better?' by using the Plus/Delta strategy.

The Plus/Delta technique is a tool that enables the user to find out what went well (plus) and what might need to be changed (delta). Simply take a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle, forming two columns. One the top of one side, put a plus sign and on the top of the other side, place a triangle. Next brainstorm all of the good things about the meeting, interaction, event, etc. After you've listed the things that went well, then brainstorm all of the ways the interaction, event, etc. could be improved. The results of this process will help validate certain activities and reveal opportunities for improvement.
